Police Shoot Homicide Suspect During Arrest In Capitol Heights: Police

An armed homicide suspect has was arrested after an early morning officer-involved shooting in Capitol Heights, authorities say.

The shooting occurred after two officers attempted to execute an arrest warrant for the suspect at his home on the 1600 block of Eastern Avenue around 5 a.m., Monday, June 13, according to the Prince George's County Police Department.

The officers were let into the home by a family member and were led to the basement to apprehend the suspect. The officers announced themselves repeatedly before approaching the suspect, who then flashed a gun toward the officers.

After the threat by the suspect, the officers fired their weapons. No injuries were reported at the scene and the suspect was arrested.
